Puddle Storyboard

I feel like it's time to put up some storyboard/comic pieces; my true passion. Yes, I took pictures because I do not have a scanner big enough. This was done my senior year in college.  The assignment was to come up with a story in which you illustrate a person/thing fall into a puddle and what comes next. I realized half way through this that my story was more elaborate than what I had time for. I'll need to finish this.

Girls

So I have two out of the three I was supposed to have. Still working on the third one (the last post). This is a little series about girls I came up with while trying to play with phrases. The first one, as you can tell, is based off of 'pear shaped'. The sassiest pear I've ever drawn. The second image is 'hourglass figure'.

I'm also thinking about doing a forth based off of 'apple butt' (I think it's a dancer thing). For the first week I thought about it, I laughed at the thought of someone literally just walking around with an apple as their back end.

Also, apologies if the images don't have a white background and seem a little dark. They were white on photoshop, I swear. Enjoy!

You know how in high school the class always tried to get the teacher to waste time by going off on tangents. Thats how I feel like what happened with this idea.

I was trying to do something fairly serious, then after a couple more thoughts, I came to this. I'm working on a couple new drawings that fit this subject as well (sorry too big to scan, photos will be uploaded later).

This is based off the phrase "girls come in all shapes and sizes." I decided to do what I do best and take it literally. If you couldn't tell, I'm going for humor. Hopefully get all these done in 2 weeks. Stay tuned.

Sick Day Sketchin'

My immune system thought it would be a good idea to crash on me the week before my birthday and give me a cold.

This sketch is just a quickie I did during the duration of the song "Sweater Weather." So, this sketch is pretty straight forward. Fast sketching is fun, and sometimes difficult. But I guess that's what makes things worth while. I'll try to work out some other sketches of her, I like her hair :)

Sorry for cropping out the legs, I wasn't a fan of the feet. I'll go in and fix them later.

Gypsies Galore

I have recently been interested in Gypsies. I have always liked things that involve magic of some sort (witches being my favorite from a very young age), so it was only a matter of time until I started drawing these lovely ladies. The first one is just a sketch  using acrylic inks to fill in some values. The bottom is an illustration I did for a Society of Illustrators competition. The majority of things I do is by hand. It's always nice to practice control with a paint brush and get a feel of your mediums. Now I just gotta go find that pen I used for outlining....

Digital Practice

My little cowgirl that came as a random idea. I've been trying to work on character designs...and also trying to get back into my digital side. (curse these talented hands). I'm trying to re-teach myself digital illustration since I'm only good at actually editing photographs with photoshop. Go figure.  I'll probably be drawing more of these little kiddies eventually.
